Who we are
My name is Claire and Claire’s Bath Luxury is my story.
I am still at school and one of the tasks for my class was a fundraiser for something similar to an Entrepreneurs day.
I was looking around for ideas which is when I was talking to my mom and seeing if she had any ideas on what I could do. My mom at the time was busy packing an order for one of her clients. She was a reseller of an existing bath salts company in South Africa.
That was when I thought maybe I could do the same. My mom push me though, and suggested that perhaps I take it a step further and actually make my own bath salt. Wow! I had never thought of that. She said, “Speak to your father”.
So I went to my dad and told him about the idea. After some careful thought, he agreed that it was a good idea and said he will sponsor the cost of the table and the starting ingredients.
After searching online and talking to people we found a basic recipe for making fragranced bath salts. We also purchased some essentials to make basic bath bombs with.
We sat over a whole weekend till late at night making bombs and salts. They were far from great but at least they fizzed a little and the salts made a good bath. No foam though. We did not know how to do that fancy stuff!
So we went to the school’s Entrepreneurs day and set up the table with the help of my dad. At the end of the day, we were all sold out and had a nice little profit. With this, my dad encouraged me to do a few more days like this and so my journey started. We managed to do two markets with our less-than-fantastic bombs and salts.
Then lockdown came…
With the help of my dad, we spent the lockdown years trying different ways of doing things and experimenting with different oils and ingredients.
What resulted was many tears of frustration, disappointment and exhaustion mixed with celebration when we got something to work. In the end, we had something that I am very proud of.
With the help of my family, I relaunched everything in 2022, under the name of Claire’s Bath Luxury. I chose the name to help show the good quality ingredients that I now use in my products and that I believe it is really way above the rest.
I now not only have a recipe that makes the most skin-nourishing bath bombs that are the best and salts that make your skin feel like you have spent a week at the spa, but we also are very close to having a bunch of body creams, soaps, scrubs and candles that we are planning to launch this year.
A part of each sale goes to helping my mom with her epilepsy and helping with the research of epilepsy.
